    WHAT IS MATTE PAINT?

Matte paint has a unique texture that diffuses light instead of reflecting it. This creates a sophisticated, non-reflective appearance that looks incredible—but requires a completely different approach to care. Whether it's a factory matte finish, a satin clear coat, BMW Frozen paint, Mercedes Magno, or aftermarket Stealth PPF, the rules of maintenance change drastically compared to traditional gloss paint.

    WHY IT'S DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN

    • Scratches cannot usually be polished out
    • Water spots and etching are more visible
    • Fingerprints and oils show easier
    • Improper washing can create glossy spots
    • Surface texture is more delicate than gloss paint

    HOW TO PROPERLY WASH

    • Hand wash only
    • Use pH neutral, matte-safe soap
    • Use soft microfiber mitts
    • Pat dry with microfiber towels
    • Work in the shade

    BIGGEST MISTAKES MATTE OWNERS MAKE

The fastest way to ruin a matte finish is treating it like a normal car. Avoid these critical mistakes:

    Automatic Car Washes

    Using Waxes or Gloss Products

    Polishing Matte Paint

    Harsh Chemicals

    WHY PROTECTION IS ESSENTIAL

Matte paint repairs are expensive and difficult. Repainting matte finishes is challenging and matching factory texture is nearly impossible. Stealth Paint Protection Film (PPF) helps preserve the factory look, prevents damage from rock chips, and makes ownership stress-free. It provides a self-healing barrier that takes the abuse so your delicate matte paint doesn't have to. This is why preserving the original finish is a top priority within the Southern California luxury and performance vehicle community.
