Whether it's Selenite Grey Magno on an AMG GT, or Night Black Magno on a G63, Mercedes-Benz's factory matte finishes are breathtaking. The Magno clear coat contains microscopic silica particles that scatter light, creating that signature deep, rich satin appearance.
However, this specialized clear coat is notoriously unforgiving. Because it cannot be polished, any chemical etching, water spotting, or physical scratching is permanent. Repainting a Magno panel to perfectly match the texture of the surrounding factory panels is one of the most difficult tasks in the automotive collision industry.
THE DANGERS OF FRICTION
The biggest enemy of Magno paint is friction.
